Study Abroad

New Zealand – Dylan Baty

Studying abroad taught me how to be more adaptable as a student through being challenged in a foreign academic environment. My experience gave me the opportunity to make friends from all over the world and learn about their cultures. I also gained a more global perspective on the landscaping and agriculture industry that I know will help me in my future career and endeavors.

I participated in a study abroad in France. Study abroad is a valuable experience, you’re able to explore beautiful places, new cultures and meet tons of interesting new people. You get to know yourself, learn to adapt to new surroundings quickly, learn independence and the value of how stepping out of your comfort zone can lead you to new and exciting things.

New Zealand – Rebecca Gamble

I went to New Zealand and studied at Lincoln University for a semester. I absolutely loved my experience there and wouldn’t have traded it for the world! Studying in a foreign country broadened my horizons and I find myself thinking about things through a different lens even though I’ve been back for a few years now. I met and became friends with so many people from all over the world and I learned a lot from them as well. My favorite part about studying abroad was being able to take a New Zealand history class and see how the formation of their country was different from the US and how that affects them now. To anyone thinking about traveling abroad, do it! You will learn so much more than you would expect and the experience is something that will stick with you for the rest of your life.
